Pistes cyclables à Barcelone
One of the most original and pleasant ways to visit every corner of the city of Barcelona is with a bicycle. You can access anywhere, even those where cars cannot, and it is also an ecological and sustainable way to explore the Catalan capital. In this post I am going to suggest three different routes that will enhance your visit to the great Catalan city.
Walk on the beaches
Something characteristic of Barcelona, especially in summer, is the number of easily accessible beaches it has. Cycling with views of the sea is one of the most pleasant and peaceful experiences the city has to offer. The route lasts an hour and a half and does not involve a great physical impact, so it is intended for any interested public. Its start is in the Plaza de Levante, near the Forum building. Following Josep Pla street you will quickly reach the seafront. When we reach the Diagonal Mar park we will turn left and we will arrive at the path parallel to the sea. Once you have reached this point, you just have to follow the path and get involved in the maritime atmosphere of Barcelona. People, sun, kites, terraces, restaurants and boats will be part of the views offered. In addition, you can swim on any of the beaches, or eat a delicious and tempting paella in the many restaurants overlooking the sea.
Walk through the port
Another landscape with the sea as the protagonist is the port. We will be able to see with amazement the number of luxurious yachts and cruise ships that fill the port of Barcelona, and the entry and exit of all kinds of boats can be perfectly seen, some impressively large and curious. On this route, instead of being able to bathe on the beaches, you can enjoy a ride aboard a Golondrina or come to look at the wide variety of objects that are sold in the market located on Paseo Juan de Borbón, near the shopping center. Mare Magnum. The route begins at the clock tower, next to the fish market, and we move towards the city, until we reach the Museum of History of Catalonia. When we reach a crossroads, we turn left until we reach the Mare Magnum. There you can see the Paseo Colón and Barceloneta marvelously, and even the replica of the submarine Ictineo II, a little further down. You can also visit the Aquarium or go to the Plaza de las Drassanes and enjoy the tour.
Walk through the Les Corts neighborhood
This neighborhood can be of great interest since it has the famous Camp Nou, among other things. In addition, it is a fairly accessible neighborhood and allows you to explore it with a bicycle without problems. It has numerous parks and gardens, such as the Can Cuiàs gardens, the Infantas gardens, or the Pedralbes palace. The journey can begin at the Zona Universitaria metro station (line 3) and we follow the Diagonal to Avenida Juan XXIII, where we will find the Princesa Sofía hotel. We will arrive at the Travesera de Les Corts and we will find the FC Barcelona stadium and if we continue we will find the different club facilities. If we follow the Travesera de les Corts we can easily reach the aforementioned gardens and also, following Berguedà street, we can reach the l’Illa shopping center, where they have numerous bars and restaurants.
